DAYS 1-2 

Meet at Auckland airport to be escorted through to your evening flight from Auckland to Ho Chi MInh City. Arrive at your first Boutique Hotel in the centre of the city in time for High Tea. Then relax at the hotel pool bar on the roof, or sleep to wipe away any residual jet lag from the journey.

Cu Chi Tunnels Ho Chi Minh Vietnam

DAY 3 

No visit to vietnam would be complete without taking in the history and horror of the war that still reverberates through the culture of modern day Vietnam. At Cu Chi Tunnels, a short trip from Saigon, you'll be amazed when you see the scale of the endeavour and humbled by the atrocities endured.

After returning from the tunnels, choose to join your Kiwi Global tour guide on a shopping extravaganza. Experience the crazed vibrancy of Ben Thanh Market, visit a luxury shopping mall featuring global brands such as Gucci and Prada showcased in marble,  or visit a man cave delight of tools of every possible description.

Relax while watching an amazing water puppet show - an impressive example of Vietnamese history and pageantry that is so good, it has been showing for over 900 years!

Follow the puppet show with a cold beverage and a sample of the huge selection at world famous Ben Thanh Street food market.

 Everything from mouth watering Vietnamese delicacies, to italian pizza or even turkish kebabs are available amongst a kaleidoscope of people.

DAY 4

A two day tour through the Mekong Delta starts in Cai Be. After a minibus journey from the hotel in Ho Chi Minh, board a river boat to cruise across to Tan Phong Island. Traverse jungle paths and hidden waterways through thick water-coconut groves to meet your jungle retreat hosts and visit intriguing places along the way where the local vendors live, manufacture and sell their wares.

Enjoy locally produced fruits and vegetables and assist in preparing them to enjoy a traditional Mekong meal with your jungle lodge hosts.  Next morning, Join a bicycle tour around Tan Phong Island to visit the traditional handicraft workshops where goods like Soya Sauce, brooms and other international goods are made. Alternately relax and enjoy the serenity of the tropical gardens of the homestay at your leisure.

DAY 5

Visit the local markets and bargain for the deal of the century, then after lunch back at the jungle retreat, hop aboard the boat for the transfer back to the Cai Be boat wharf to be driven back to your boutique hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, arriving in the early evening

DAY 6

The war remnants Museum documents the Vietnamese experience of the "American War in Vietnam" and the terrible atrocities that occured. It is one of the most confronting and also most important keys to understanding the Vietnamese culture, history, and the people of Saigon

Fly to Hanoi in the North of Vietnam. The Capital. Hanoi Old town is steeped in rich French colonial tradition, architecture and exquisite Eurasian inspired cuisine. Enjoy a warm 5 star welcome at an exclusive colonial style boutique hotel. Then take a stroll along the bustling streets where tiny specialty stores abound.

Relax on the balcony with the group overlooking the central square to enjoy a sunset cocktail or cold beer and admire the chaos below. Afterwards, enjoy some haggling at the night markets while weaving your way back to the hotel.

DAY 7

Transfer to UNESCO World Heritage listed Ha Long Bay for a 5 star luxury overnight cruise aboard a traditional Vietnamese Junk. Relax and unwind while watching the incredible scenery drift on by.

Drift peacefully through stunning scenery and still waters. Join an expedition through a hidden cave system on Cat Ba Island, Then later watch the sunset over the uninhabited sandstone Kasts

DAY 8

Enjoy a dawn session of Tai Chi before breakfast, or kick back and relax. Kayak the tranquil waters, visit a grotto cave and swim in the tepid waters. The choice is yours. We return to Hanoi after a delicious brunch on board.

DAY 9

There is so much to do in Hanoi, it is hard to fit it all in, so we suggest joining the hop on hop off bus which includes an audio tour of the city highlights, important landmarks, galleries and government buildings

Stay on the bus as long as you like, or hop off and sightsee wherever something is of interest. Buses arrive at each stop every 1/2 hour. Maybe catch a cyclo for a spin around Old Town Hanoi

In addition to sightseeing, if you'd like to shop, each street in Hanoi old town is a traditional specialty street of a particular trade. For example there is a whole street dedicated to silk merchants, even one for children's toys.

DAY 10

Ninh Binh province south of Hanoi is a picture perfect example of rural Vietnam. There are two distinct highlights to this journey. Firstly the incredible temple pagoda of Bai Dinh which has been constructed around enormous gold plated statues of Buddha. Our local guide explains fascinating  stories about Vietnamese buddhism and the history of this magnificent construction

The second attraction in this region is the river cave system of Trang An where you will enjoy a tranquil boat ride in scenery that rivals the cliffs of Halong Bay. Hidden pagodas abound as you are rowed by your experienced local guide

DAY 11

Fly from Hanoi to Siem Reap Cambodia. A wonderful boutique resort in the heart of the French Quarter awaits. Explore the town and perhaps visit the local market and "Pub Street" by hired moto-cyclo

DAY 12

Every drop of energy will be needed for a huge day exploring the incredible temples of the UNESCO World Heritage listed Angkor Wat National Park

Hidden from sight for many centuries and covered by jungle, the temples have been recently uncovered and their treasures rediscovered

DAY 13

Enjoy an exclusive visit to a traditional farming village in rural Cambodia. the road is a bit rough but it is well worth the ride.

Learn about the day to day tasks of the villagers and meet some of the children who are studying hard to learn English. Our host explains his dream to expand future opportunities for his village children.

Check out how rice is grown traditionally. Meet the local children and learn about their lifestyle in rural Cambodia. Join in sharing a meal with the villagers cooked over a fire. Catch a ride on a tractor cart to the village pagoda.
